Restorative Anti Gravity with Pranayama in the Salt Room – June 23, 2013

7-7:15pm move to AG room
7:15-9pm -- Restorative AG practice
Join Valerie Knopik for a candlelight AntiGravity Restorative yoga class utilizing the AGY hammock 9 inches off the floor to restore and rebalance body, mind and spirit. Imagine all the moving parts of your body flexing and extending while floating weightlessly in space. Restorative Antigravity Yoga utilizes the hammock to float the body in mid-air through a series of gentle stretching motions, deeply opening the entire spine, hip girdle, shoulders sockets, and more. The weightlessness provided by the hammock allows the body to safely glide to the extent of its flexibility with zero compression on the joints and connecting tissues, which brings the benefits of detoxification and the prevention and rehabilitation of injuries. This practice rejuvenates your body, soothes your senses, and calms your nervous system. This groundbreaking restorative technique flows like a moving meditation, gently repairing and healing the physical body while simultaneously stilling the mind.
This special summer format will start with 30 minutes of pranayama (or focused breathing) in the Himalayan Salt Room and then will move into the AntiGravity room for a Restorative AntiGravity practice. Do not miss this special opportunity to relax and renew after the holidays and start the New Year in a relaxed state of mind.
No experience required. Suitable for ages 16 and over. Please wear long sleeves and long pants and bring a yoga mat to this class.
