We recommend attending ten (10) yoga classes in thirty (30) days if you are new to yoga. WE RECOMMEND 4-6 TIMES PER WEEK FOR ATHLETES OR THOSE TRULY LOOKING FOR LIFE CHANGING RESULTS. For those maintaining physical conditioning, we recommend a practice of 2-3 times weekly.
What about the F-word - Flexibility?Flexibility begins in the mind, then the body follows. Traditionally, flexibility has meant the ability to lengthen the middle or belly of the muscle to allow an ideal functional relaxed muscle state. Increasingly, sports medicine scientists are realizing that developing more supple connective tissue is a vital factor in full body flexibility. In a recent Yoga Journal article on the science of flexibility, it stated that connective tissue makes up as much as 30% of a muscles total mass and accounts for approximately 41% of the total muscle resistance to movement. Raffa Power Yoga is deep sustained muscle stretches safely and effectively makes muscles more limber and encourages more blood flow and oxygen, which further lengthens and relaxes the entire muscle and not just the muscle belly.
Will I lose weight doing Raffa Power Yoga? How long until I see results?Yes! Raffa Power Yoga has a cardiovascular element which assists with fat burning. Each body type, metabolism and the amount of physical energy exerted is different from person to person. Consistency in your yoga practice, healthy eating habits and lifestyle all contribute to change overtime. The effort you put into losing weight and exercising will be directly related to the results you receive. The Yoga program will work if you work it!
Can I do Raffa Power Yoga if I am injured? Before beginning any exercise/yoga program, it is always best to consult your physician before attending class. It has been our experience that if you are nursing a persistent injury, stopping or resting alone does not address the problem. You know this because everytime you begin the activity again the injury returns. To heal the injury and resume the activity it is necessary to reveal the muscular imbalance and address the problem. Raffa Power Yoga is designed to do this. Through technique and muscle balance, we can assist you in discovering the healing ability within yourself.
Can I do Raffa Power Yoga if I am pregnant?Yes. Specific medical concerns should always be discussed with your physician prior to attending class. Yoga during pregnancy is very helpful in assisting in muscle relaxation, and addressing the mental, physical and emotional changes of the body both before delivery and the challenges of parenthood after delivery.

The Raffa Power Yoga Studios strive for excellence. That is why we are proud to add to our studios the addition of Forrest Yoga classes. These classes are inspired by the teachings of Yoga Master Ana Forrest of The Forrest Yoga Circle, based in Santa Monica, California. Ana has spent 30 years developing Forrest Yoga specifically to address people’s stresses and challenges both physical and emotional. Forrest Yoga uses intense pose sequencing, compassionately taught, to develop skills in awakening each of the senses. Forrest Yoga teaches you to bring aliveness, using breath, into every cell of your body, igniting your passion for living. The pillars of Forrest Yoga are breath, strength, integrity and spirit. Using these practices will create a sense of freedom, a connection to your spirit, and the courage to walk as your spirit dictates. By using these methods, you will go deeper to find the truth in your body and the encouragement to use this truth beyond your yoga mat and into the rest of your life. As a beginner to Forrest Yoga, you learn to breath deeply and connect to feeling in your body. As you progress, you will get proficient at safely tailoring each pose to work best for you, particularly with physical and emotional injuries. Learning to work honesty at your edges, you develop effective tools to deal with fear, struggle and breakthroughs. This makes it possible for integrity, self-awareness and playful curiosity to become part of your daily life. Forrest Yoga does not require strength or flexibility: it only requires that you bring a willingness to learn how you feel authentically and respond honestly. As you advance in the Forrest Yoga Class, step-by-step you will learn to ride your breath into exhilarating advanced poses. In addition, you will learn to exercise your emotional body through full spectrum of feeling from the healing process all the way into ecstatic realms.
