Raffa Power Yoga Beginners Class
This class is designed for those who are beginning their yoga practice. The pace of the class moves in a way that allows students to get into their bodies and learn the poses in a safe and healthy manner. Beginner Power Yoga outlines the flow and poses that a student would find in any class offered at Raffa. This class allows students to become familiar with the breath work that is used in yoga class and also to become comfortable on their mats. The room is heated which offers a detox for the students. Students are encouraged to come to class and be comfortable with where they are in their practice.

Some yoga experience is suggested, but if you come with an open heart and mind, everyone will have a sweaty good time! Experience suggested.

Students will practice Surya Namaskar and Shiva vinyasa flows to warm up the body,bring flexibility to all muscles and joints and wake up the nervous system. A powerful series of balancing, stretching, back bending, twisting, and inverted postures will follow.This practice ends with deep relaxation, breathing, and meditation exercises to remove impurities and bring a sense of well being to the body and peace to the mind. Advanced beginners through intermediate, room temperature is warm not hot. This Class is practiced to music.

Learn to work the edges of physical and emotional reactivity and sensations of the body. Poses are held long, flow sequence moves slower, sweat builds as you learn to connect deeply to your core . Options are given for beginning and advanced students. Instructors are trained extremely well for modification for injuries and options during pregnancy. come and find clarity through the Forrest yoga method. This therapeutic class is designed for those who wish to journey a bit deeper into the connective tissues of the body while balancing their practice with therapeutic assisted stretching. Whether managing chronic connective tissue diseases such as Rheumatoid Arthritis, renewing strength and flexibility into a previously tight or injured areas of your body or just looking to improve the depth of your flexibility and balance, this core practice is for you. Years of a dedicated asana practice will make anyone healthier, stronger, and more flexible, but at some point the muscles will have reached their limit of flexibility. New depths in postures, deeper ranges of motion, or an increased flow of energy may only be achievable by focusing on the deeper tissues of the body. This is the perfect compliment and balance to a more active, yang practice. If you have ever sat for a long time with legs crossed, you know the hips and lower back need to be strong and open. The sensations you felt were deep in the connective tissues and the joints. These are the deep yin tissues of the body, relative to the more superficial yang tissues of muscles and skin. This practice opens up these deep, dense, rarely touched areas. This class will integrate deep yin postures with longer holds as well as assisted yang stretches to awaken every depth of your tissue.
